Options for Filling Tooth Gaps

Gaps in your smile can feel embarrassing! Not to mention making it more difficult to chew and eat comfortably. The good news is there are three reliable solutions for compromised or missing teeth that can fill the gaps and restore function and aesthetics to your smile:

Here's what you should know.

Option #1: Dental Implants

Considered the gold standard in tooth replacement, dental implants can restore one or multiple missing teeth.

A trusted oral surgeon places a biocompatible titanium dental implant carefully into your jawbone during a dental implant placement procedure. Over a period of three to six months, the implant gradually fuses and integrates with your bone becoming part of your dental anatomy and replacing your tooth root. When the healing is completed, it's now ready to support your new tooth.

An implant supports a porcelain crown for single tooth replacement, or two to four dental implants can support a bridge or denture to replace multiple missing teeth.

Option #2: Dental Bridges

A traditional dental bridge replaces one or more adjacent missing teeth by anchoring porcelain crowns to healthy teeth. The bridge then supports one or more prosthetic teeth in between that Dr. Tibbs designs to restore your smile.

A bridge is made of durable and aesthetic porcelain that restores chewing function and the beautiful appearance of your smile.

Option #3: Full and Partial Dentures

For patients missing most or even all of their teeth, a full or partial denture can be an excellent option. A partial denture fills in the gaps left by multiple missing teeth with artificial teeth that attach to a removable appliance. In contrast, a complete denture, made of acrylic, restores an entire arch of missing teeth.
