Has it been a while since you visited a dental office? If so, we think you will be pleasantly surprised at the state-of-the-art technology we use that makes your visits more efficient, more productive, and more comfortable than you ever thought possible.
Dr. Jeffrey Tibbs has been practicing for over 25 years and continues to learn everything he can about technology, techniques, and materials so he can always provide the highest standard of care available. We hope you will check out some of this page to see some of the equipment we currently use and then give us a call to arrange a time for you to visit us in person!
Digital X-Rays
Many of our patients are understandably concerned about their exposure during dental x-rays. At the office of Jeffrey J. Tibbs, DDS,, we have chosen to invest in state-of-the-art digital x-ray technology that minimizes your exposure by as much as 90% compared to film x-rays.
Digital x-rays offer lots of other advantages, too. Instead of bulky x-ray film that can be uncomfortable to hold in your mouth and often results in repeat exposures to get a clear picture, digital x-rays use flat digital sensors. Since they're flat, they fit comfortably in your mouth, and their rounded edges won't poke into tender tissue in the mouth.
We also use digital x-rays as an educational tool. Within moments of taking the image, we can share it with you on your chairside monitor. Just like any digital image, Dr. Tibbs can zoom in on areas and enhance the image so you can clearly see what the problem is and why treatment is necessary. Your digital images are stored on our secure in-house network, making them easily accessible for reference or to send to specialists and insurance companies.
Intraoral Cameras
If you have ever wondered what the dentist sees when they look in your mouth, wonder no more! As part of our ongoing commitment to educate our patients about their oral health needs, we are pleased to use intraoral cameras, which make diagnosing certain conditions a shared effort.
An intraoral camera is about the size of a pen, and as Dr. Tibbs guides it over your teeth, a real-time image of your mouth is displayed on your chairside monitor. This makes you part of the process because you can see what we see, and we find that visualizing what's happening makes it easy for you to see and understand why treatment is necessary.
TVs in Treatment Rooms
Our goal is to make your visits with us as comfortable and stress-free as possible, so we are pleased to offer TVs in all our treatment rooms. During your treatment, we invite you to sit back and watch your favorite TV program while we work to improve the health of your smile.
